Knit & Natter team at St Thomas the Apostle Batley

DSC_0501

Every Monday afternoon a small group gets together at 2.00pm at St Thomas the Apostle’s Church, Grosvenor Road Batley for a bit of a natter, to do some knitting and to drink some tea.

The members clearly enjoyed getting together for this very pleasant social experience and in many ways showed how doing activities together can contribute to the wellbeing of everyone concerned.

This further encouraged me to see if we can now develop something that is more up the street of men, such as a Men’s shed. With activities such as woodwork, fixing bikes or furniture renovation, model making etc.

A few local men in Batley are already exploring the idea and are currently looking for suitable premises.

Do contact me at Rural Action Yorkshire if you want to be involved either on 0845 313 0270 or by clicking HERE
