Different communities are coming together to develop a Men’s Shed in Ravensthorpe.

Today Thursday 1st December, Muhammed Amin from the Alhudazawiya Community Centre and Father Paul Atkinson from St Saviour Church Ravensthorpe met with Andy Ryland of Rural Action Yorkshire and Sharon Bavington of Near Neighbours  to discuss the setting up of a Men’s Shed in Ravensthorpe. The idea is that men from different communities in the area can meet together to pursue common interests such as wood work, model making etc or whatever they’re interested in.

The current idea is to obtain a portable cabin/classroom or site office and convert it in to a workshop and furnish it with appropriate tools and equipment identified by the men themselves.

If this is something that’s of interest to you contact Muhammed at the Alhudazawiya Community Centre
